| History: | In 1964 Fireball Roberts was fatally burned in a wreck
at the World 600 at ?Dakota. This is the actual 1957 Holman Moody prepared Ford for Nascar. It was driven by the late, great Glen "Fireball" Roberts. "Fireball" Roberts got his nickname from his baseball days. He was a pitcher for the Florida "Mud Hens" team and had a very fast pitch, thus the nickname. This car was supercharged, but later in the year, Nascar came out with rules which stated that supercharged cars could not run the Nascar circuit. It was the pole sitter and race winner at the spring race in North Wilkesboro, NC before that track was paved. This car has accomplished many feats in its career. |
